Job Summary/Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable driver with a minimum of 6 years of driving experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent navigational skills, and a proven track record of timely deliveries. This role involves transporting goods and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to maintain a safe driving record.
- Assist in loading and unloading goods as necessary.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or accidents to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Uphold a positive company image through professional behavior and appearance.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Strong knowledge of local and interstate roadways and traffic laws.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GPS and route planning software.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles and ability to perform minor repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in various driving conditions.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Additional certifications related to driving or transportation are a plus.
